Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in Torrance, CA
Dr. Victoria Chen is a hospital-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon at South Bay Dental Loft. With a calm, steady presence, she creates an environment where patients feel informed and at ease going into surgical care.
Dr. Chen brings a rare combination of dental and medical training to South Bay Dental Loft. Her surgical background spans everything from wisdom tooth extractions and dental implant placement to more complex oral and facial procedures, giving her the depth to handle routine and advanced cases with the same level of precision.
Her arrival means South Bay Dental Loft patients no longer need to be referred out for many oral surgery needs. Dr. Chen provides advanced surgical care in the same comfortable, spa-like setting patients already know.
Outside the office, Dr. Chen can usually be found on her bike, exploring the local food scene, or with her nose in a good book. She lives with her partner and their dog, Poppi.
Hospital-Trained Surgical Expertise

Dr. Chen's path to oral and maxillofacial surgery began at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied Biology with additional coursework through the Wharton School, along with minors in the Biological Basis of Behavior and Health Services Management. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UCLA School of Dentistry, where she was elected Student Body President, served on the ASDA District 11 board, and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, dentistry's national honor society.
She then completed UCLA's six-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency, one of the most rigorous training paths in dentistry, which combined full surgical residency training with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a 12-month General Surgery internship at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Her training covered:
• Wisdom tooth extractions and dentoalveolar surgery
• Dental implant placement
• Facial trauma and reconstructive surgery
• TMJ disorders and corrective jaw surgery
• Oral pathology and diagnosis
Today, Dr. Chen continues to teach in UCLA's Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident clinic and holds hospital privileges at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where she takes trauma call. That ongoing connection to an academic hospital environment keeps her current on surgical technique and patient safety, expertise she now brings to South Bay Dental Loft.

At South Bay Dental Loft, Dr. Chen believes surgical care shouldn't feel cold or transactional. She walks patients through every step of a procedure: what to expect, how to prepare, and what recovery looks like, so nothing comes as a surprise.
Her approach centers on treating the whole patient, not just the surgical site. Whether she's placing an implant or managing a more involved case, Dr. Chen works closely with the rest of the South Bay Dental Loft team so every treatment plan fits into a patient's broader dental and health goals.
Having trained and taught in a hospital surgical setting, Dr. Chen brings a calm, steady presence to even the procedures patients dread most. She carries the same precision and vigilance from the operating room into a relaxed, spa-like setting.
Dr. Chen believes the best surgical outcomes come from clear communication, careful planning, and genuine reassurance, so patients leave feeling cared for, not just treated.
Experience dentistry reimagined with luxurious amenities, a relaxing spa-like atmosphere, and a dedicated team committed to your beautiful, healthy smile.
